Ripper Products
An equipment ripper is an attachment used to break up hard, compacted soil, rock, or frozen ground. The primary components work together to penetrate and loosen the material, preparing the ground for further excavation or planting.
The Shank is the main, long, and often curved vertical component, typically made of hardened steel, that penetrates the ground. It is designed to withstand high stress and act as the base for the tip. Ripper shanks can be single for deep, heavy ripping or multiple for shallower, wider coverage.
The Tooth (or Tip/Point) is attached to the lower end of the shank. The tooth is the actual cutting edge that makes initial contact with the ground. These are replaceable wear parts, designed to fracture and loosen the material efficiently. They come in various shapes and sizes to match specific soil conditions and are made from wear-resistant materials like chrome-cast alloys.
Wear Plates/Guards (Shank Protectors) are protective plates or shins attached to the shank to reduce abrasion and wear, extending the life of the more expensive shank component, especially in abrasive or rocky conditions.
